So the day is finally here. Days after my 29th birthday, I’m leaving the city I’ve spent the last 22 years calling home. Funny enough, it’s never really felt like home, but it’s been the only home I’ve ever known. And I honestly can’t wait to leave. People think I’m being dramatic when I say this, but I’ve never liked living here. Ever since I realized there were roads leading out of town, I’ve been dreaming of which one I’d take. No, I’m not trying to run away from my family, whom mostly still live in the area. I’ve just never ‘fit’. I can’t describe it, but I know some of you out there know exactly what I’m talking about.
And now, after years of anticipation, months of planning and hours of packing, we’re finally ready to hit the road! First stop… Sarnia, Ontario to spend a quiet summer on the beach with our family. Family we usually only see for a few weeks every couple years, so it’s definitely going to be a great summer!
I'm a former teen mom, a career chef and an entrepreneur with a life-long wanderlust. My son and I recently became unschoolers and world-schoolers! This means we travel full-time and use our real-life experiences as a basis for his education. It's a blast, and we're both learning so much as we go!
